Jan Willem en Eric leerden elkaar halverwege de tachtiger jaren kennen bij een concert in de plaatselijke schouwburg in Emmen. Tijdens hun eerste kennismaking bleek al gauw dat ze gemeenschappelijke ideeën deelden wat betreft hun favoriete muziek. Hieruit ontstond een jarenlange hechte muzikale vriendschap.
Geïnspireerd door enkele van hun geliefde bands zoals: Rush, Saga, Pink Floyd en Fates Warning besloot het tweetal om ook zelf Prog-Rock te gaan maken. Hiervoor componeerde Jan Willem de muziek, bespeelde alle instrumenten en nam de diverse sporen op met zijn computer. Vervolgens werd de instrumentale tussenmix aan Eric overhandigd die hiervoor songteksten schreef en de bijpassende zanglijnen componeerde. Tot slot mocht Jan Willem zich buigen over de geluidseffecten en de eind mix.
Het resultaat van deze inspanningen met de welluidende naam Prognosis-Project – “Puzzle Of Fragments” kun je beschouwen als een muzikaal experiment in de breedste zin van het woord waar de makers buitengewoon trots op zijn.
Hoewel dit ondanks relatief eenvoudige opnametechnieken redelijk goed klinkt is hiervan helaas geen professionele productie beschikbaar. Vandaar dat Eric & Jan Willem ervoor hebben gekozen deze muziek via deze website beschikbaar te stellen als soort van demo met daarop 16 zeer uiteenlopende nummers welke tezamen een muzikale “rockopera”/concept-cd vormen.
Bij voldoende positieve reacties streven de makers ernaar om dat in de toekomst alsnog aan te kunnen bieden.

Jan Willem and Eric met each other in the mid-eighties at a concert in the local theatre in Emmen. During their first meeting it soon became clear that they shared common ideas regarding their favorite music. This led to a close musical friendship that lasted for many years.
Inspired by some of their favorite bands such as: Rush, Saga, Pink Floyd and Fates Warning, the duo decided to make their own Prog-Rock. Jan Willem composed the music, played all the instruments and recorded the various tracks with his computer. The instrumental intermediate mix was then handed over to Eric, who wrote the lyrics for it and composed the accompanying vocal lines. Finally, Jan Willem worked on the sound effects and the final mix.
The result of these efforts with the melodious name Prognosis-Project – “Puzzle Of Fragments” can be considered a musical experiment in the broadest sense of the word that the makers are extremely proud of.
Although this sounds reasonably good despite relatively simple recording techniques, unfortunately no professional production is available. That is why Eric & Jan Willem have chosen to make this music available via this website as a kind of demo with 16 very various numbers that together form a musical “rock opera”/concept-cd.
If there are sufficient positive reactions, the makers will strive to be able to offer this in the future.
